"Fruit for a Healthy Future" - on display at this year's show

UAP deservedly won the Best Themed Trade Stand at this year's National Fruit Show, for fronting, along with Tesco, a major initiative to connect consumers of the future with Growers and food-chain participants.

UAP's Neil Obbard led our efforts to do this by involving Primary Schools across Kent in "Fruit for your Healthy Future."

The project received a very positive response and was immediately linked to the National Curriculum for 4 to 11 year olds. The amazing responses from the children were displayed on UAP's stand - the walls being dressed with large, stunning pictures of their "healthy fruit story" work.
The Schools' involvement didn't stop at producing the artwork - a number of the participating schools visited our stand, to see their own work on show. The children also saw for themselves the amazing fruit displays. If they thought fruit originated in Supermarkets, before they attended the show, surely they don't still.

Neil Obbard is confident that the project will be on-going and hopefully lead to greater interaction between growers, fruit specialists and school children.
